Manage your expectations by setting realistic and achievable goals

Having unrealistic goals can mean we're setting the bar too high to achieve and setting ourselves up to fail. Our goals need to be achievable within a realistic timeframe to maintain good levels of motivation. Pushing for change too quickly can be counterproductive and backfire.

Depending on your view around goals and ability to cope with not reaching your goals, two things can work here:

1) Set goals that can be met, or
2) Set tougher goals that might not be met but work on you feeling fine about not achieving it in the timeframe you want to :)
